just a bit of advice to start
Morning all
I have just joined the forum this morning and am hoping to get some pointers on building a 4"scale foster traction engine. And also what are the pit fallls i am likely to encounter. I am at present changing my garrage into a work shop lathe mill etc and the next step or leep as may be will be the purchase of a big box of bits

4" foster
Sir,
For the past two years diligently worked on a 4" Foster. Minimal castings however lots of fabrication. You will need access to a large lathe
for flywheel and final drive gear.To date assembling components onto boiler. However from another website it appears that up to 74 errors or more info required to drawings. (Some of which are mere details). Past life made a 3" Burrell from Plastow's drawings which took a lot of studying.
Personally would start on the front end then you can see what it is about, also not much money in the project. Good Luck
